Max Martinez was born and raised in Brooklyn N.Y. His mom had a major influence in his musical background. She would often expose Max and his sister to various types of music. From disco, salsa, merengue, pop, rock, rare groove, and everything in between. They often had many different types of records on hand, so naturally he started deejaying at an early age, around 15 or 16 years old. He started off with Hip-Hop and then moved on to Freestyle and House music. The latter had a profound effect on his life as it began to consume much of his time. Like most people Max did the occasional wedding and house party. As the years went by he moved on to school dances block parties and the occasional local bar/club. Now this coming new year (2010) Max Martinez will finally be releasing some of his own material as well as some remixes through Selekta Recordings.
